1. Review the completed reduction
Before submitting, inspect the light curve, its uncertainties, and the fit residuals. Check the observing coverage and any frame exclusions. Investigate an unexpected fit or a questionable target selection before treating the output as a finished observation.
Confirm the target, observing date, original telescope and location, and filter. Public archive images should retain the original instrument information. Your AAVSO observer code identifies your submission; it does not replace the telescope or archive provenance.
2. Connect AAVSO and submit the report
Connect your AAVSO account in the workspace. From the completed reduction, choose Submit with AAVSO. Review the linked data-sharing terms before choosing to submit. Exoplanet World uses its online submission service for results from both Local and Server reductions.
The service checks the connection and observing setup, uploads the report and supporting images, and looks for a matching AAVSO receipt. If the observing setup needs correction, use the original data metadata to resolve the mismatch before retrying. Follow any verification prompt shown in the submission dialog.
3. Follow the same submission attempt
Closing the progress popup leaves an active submission running. Use View submission progress on the result page to reopen the same attempt. If the workspace is checking a previous outcome, the button is labeled View AAVSO check.
An unconfirmed outcome means the workspace does not yet have a matching receipt. Use Check AAVSO and inspect the existing record before authorizing another upload. A lost browser response is not, by itself, evidence that the report was rejected.
4. Confirm the record and keep your files
When the submission is confirmed, open View AAVSO record and check the planet, observer code, and observation date. Exoplanet World confirms the receipt by matching the downloaded AAVSO report to the report from the reduction.
Search AAVSO by the observation date as well as your observer code. An archive sequence observed years ago is still listed under that observing date, even when you submit its reduction today.
Keep the downloaded package and your analysis notes. The public gallery links submitted results to their AAVSO records. Submission makes the observation available through AAVSO; it is distinct from having the result reviewed or included in a research paper.
